Rumor has it Uniqlo is gonna stock new collection 'exclusive' for their consession in Selfridges. Well, I can't help but to check it out when it hit the mall last week. What is my verdict?
Upon reaching the corner lot in the uber mall, I am stunned. Surprised indeed coz it's not the typical Uniqlo that I've known all these years. It's unlike the usual goodie-two-shoes, squeaky clean image that Uniqlo has been 'portraying' all these while. It's new. It's like good boy going bad kinda feel. It's Uniqlo embracing the rock-n-roll, edgy, underworld look (boy, do I love the word underworld right now, ahaks!).
So, what's in the collection? Like these chambray shirts, in a wrinkly, creased texture. The fit is super slim fitting, making it super edgy. Word of caution: not for those who has spare tyres or those who don't have the body to rock in it (which I am too, unfortunately) - coz it's really a body-con shirt. But the feel and the material used, it's fantastic! Oh, don't give it to anyone that have an OCD, otherwise the texture will freak 'em out. Lol!
Another piece in the collection is this unlined, slimfitting blazer, that has the similar wrinkly feel as the shirts. At first I thought this was a cotton or linen-blend, but boy am I wrong. It's wool. That's why it feels great, though a bit tight on the sleeves. Love it? Absolutely. But not the price... nggg...
Any rock-n-roll ensemble need a proper accessories, right? Yup, with these studded belt, which comes in black and white. I think they're the most chic studded belt I've ever found. Simple, slim and nice design. Rock and roll chic, that is. The bad news is, it only comes in two sizes - medium and large. So, for a size zero person like me - don't ever think you it fits you, coz it doesn't fit me. :(
Oh, did I told you that these collection is exclusive to Uniqlo @ Selfridges? Well, sort of. 'Exclusive' to the UK market, perhaps... coz apparently you can find it online @ Uniqlo Japan btw. Or in Japan, as a whole! Some of other pieces include the studded sling bag and mini holdall in Uniqlo's famous neo-leather. How do I find it? Not so nice, coz they construction and texture made it feel cheap. Another item is the typical Uniqlo check shirt, but given creases like the other shirts as before. Pretty cool if you wanna unleash your bad boy in you. :)
