This is nothing to do with men's fashion. But still, it got to do with looking deviliciously good. Some of you might have known that I cut my own hair. Yeah, it's been almost a decade that I've used the shaver to create my own look, by which lots of people can't believe coz it doesn't look 'awful' at all. And you know all the money I've saved for not going to the hairdresser - they're quite a lot I can say (but it later on went to my Gucci's, ahaks!)
Anyway. This time I've somewhat 'upgraded' to another level - cutting other people's hair. Not on a bloke, but a girl. My 16-year old niece to be exact. She got a nice long hair, just like the one you see in Pantene ad. Very straight, black hair. But the thing is, it's way too long for a girl to have one that reaches almost to the waist. And it wears her off since its look quite dull and make her look older than her age. So, what did I do?
I asked her mum (my sis-in-law) to cut it shorter. Not just that, I am the one who gonna do it for her. And I wanna create 'bangs'. The mum don't really know what a 'bangs' was - so I googled through the net, and voila... showed her the images of what a 'hair with bangs' will look like. She seems to like it especially when she saw the first pix below (I dunno who's that model, but she rocks in that look!). Previously, I asked my niece you know what a bangs is? She say, the one like Tyra Banks have? Lol! At least my niece watch America's Next Top Model, then she knows a thing or two about style! Me, btw... I like the look on Kim Kardashian - simple and looks fantastic too.
So, the makeover time (now i sound like Tyra, lol!). First I brought half of the hair to the front and snip, snip, snip... off they go. I think it probably about 6-8 inches of hair that became the victim. Then I cut the remaining part vertically, not horizontally, coz it will make the hair to even out nicely. If I cut it horizontally to create that 'bangs' then there's a possibility for some accident to occur - it won't be straight. Well, I learned that from a master, anyway. ;)
Then, second part - the backside gotta be shoulder-length. This one is easy. I cut the whole 4-5 inches first, and the remaining went the same process as the above - vertically snipped. And the result? It was much better and she looks more to her age than before. The mum and dad were very happy indeed coz they said it's fantastic, how do you do it?
Well, I just use a pair of scissors. That's it. A small one but pointy with sharper edge. And the hair must be damp - not wet or dry - just damp, to make the whole process easier (and that goes to the men too). I don't use any comb - just this bare hands to 'clip' those hair in place while I'm cutting it. And the result? The hair says it all. If everyone's happy with the look, I am happy too! :)
So, Zamri a hairdresser? At least I can say to my Subway friend, J when he asked me "are you a hairdresser?" a couple of weeks ago - yes, I am now! To Guido Palau, Nicky Clarke and Sasson's salon ... you got a new recruit now. Ahaks! =)
Oh, if you ask where's my niece's photo to make this story more convincingly happenned - well, she hates it when anyone's taking her pix, fyi. So, not gonna be in here! :)
