Oh, my. If I'm in London right now I should've known the news that Banana Republic has opened another store in Covent Garden, and I should've gone there to bag some freebies. just like what they did when their Europe's debut store opened at Regent Street two years ago, the customers get some goodies even without any purchase. But, well... I am now in million miles away. :(
Anyway, apart from opening a new store in a new season, Banana Republic also stocked some new items on the rails. Like this linen blazer in tobacco-brown and chambray-blue checks. If you're a style savvy this jacket will add some little pizzazz to any bland spring outfit. You could use to to layer up too without looking too 'bulking up' because they said it's quite lightweight. And it's linen, it's breathable and IMO it doesn't sweat you as much as wool did.
If you like some alternatives, this shirt from Closed @ Matches Fashion could do the job well. I think it does share a similar theme with that BR jacket - the brown/blue checks - though this shirt loos more distressed with that brown splotches on it. Doesn't it look very 'country & western'? Or wild, wild, west... as if someone has just return home after being busted in the sand? I bet it does looks the part... =)
