zaBigFatLife: Son of a Shopaholic

S
I think I know where I got this 'shopaholic' blood from - it's from my own mother. My mum is the worst in term of shopping traits coz she can literally spend the whole chunk of money at one go. Even worst, she can spend it just in one shop. Yikes...
Previously I've became a 'driver' to my mum and brought her to shop for the wedding accessories thing at a local store. My cousin is getting married soon, and as usual my mum - who's been doing her wedding business for more than 3 decades now - is gonna prepare everything by herself from the curtains, the bedroom decor, the bridal gowns as well as the wedding dais, a must for any bride-to-be. So, all of the supply like the beads, the threads and laces can be obtained at one of her staple shop in the city.

So, there I am together with my sister went to the shop to see what's happening. Well, not really to see see...coz I'm the driver... so she can't go there without me taking her there. While at the shop, me and my sis was just sitting around doing nothing but to stare what's going on, and my mum is doing all her things from taking this and this and this, to choosing that and that and that. But it's quite interesting coz you can see how all those raw material eventually turned into something very decorative in the end. Now I know that there're many types of beads - from the glass one, to the plastic and some with more blingy. I even asked the salesgirl whether she got something like stud things - coz I have a project of my own which I'm about to embark soon (what is it? I can't tell now..ahaks)

So, anyway... tick tock tick tock... it's more than one and a half hours! And my mum is not even finished with her purchase. What not? Whenever she's about to pay for something...suddenly something caught her eyes, and she pick it up. Not to mention that she ask for the same thing but in different colors, and we all have to wait for the salesgirl to find it from the stockroom. And while she's about to pay for that again... then something else caught her attention again. And again... and again. And that's why it took us the whole hours just in that store. Me and my sis can't stop but sighing tirelessly. Oh, how much did her buy that day? I dunno but hundreds of dollars - just for the frickin' accessories!

But the shopping didn't just end there. Next stop... the fabric store. Oh, mother... now I know where my 'shopaholic' gene came from. :)

Btw, Happy Mother's Day to my mum (coz we're celebrating it today).

Some of the pix that I took while waiting in agony....
