The trend for Spring/Summer 2010 at River Island continues with new collection bearing the key items: raw, skull and the joggers. It seems that River Island really excels in these department coz the clothes are one of its kind in the highstreet, plus it started to pick up followers too.
The raw t-shirts is now becoming a signature at River Island. I love how they took a next step by having it made from the fabric that I like - kinda bamboo fiber, which is previously seen done a lot at Topman (but somehow being stopped, why?). As the name raw - both the sleeves and the waist being 'slash-and-cut'. But one thing that I'm not really into this tee - the neck is not too 'deep V', coz otherwise it'll made this tee appear edgier. Just a slightly bit, it will do. Anyway, I love the fit. Awesome!
Skull. Boy, I can't get enough of skull, huh? When lots of labels doing in print forms, River Island studded it. Look closer, the silhouette of the skull is actually being made of tiny dots of metallic 'buttons'. Kinda Cadbury Buttons lookalike, but in silver. Love how edgy it looks with the tie-dye fabric. Since the effort goes into creating the skull motif, the price is slightly on the higher side. Erks!
While harem pants start creating its cult in SS2010 trend, the other that made its way is the joggers. If the ladies got jeggings (jeans legging), the guys got jeggers (jeans joggers) or deggers (denim joggers), whichever you like to call it. I love the idea of combining both world - sporty sweat pant and denim into this hybrid pants. You got all the sweat pants features - the cuffed legs, cuffed waist and drawstring, while the fabric is denim instead of typical jersey. Fit? Awesome. Though it looks very 'overblown' prior putting it on, but once I tried it - it's actually quite cool. I love the whole look - though I hate the back pockets which I think is too low. Price? Eeek.. much pricier than typical jeans, and cost almost like Uniqlo 'Made in Japan' denims. Yikes!
