The Trend is Horsing Around...

S
Equestrian, polo and horse-riding in general are the sport for the elite. If you flick open Channel 4 every Saturday morning, chances that you gonna watch the horse racing on some racecourses in England like Newmarket and Doncaster which has been a tradition for as long as one can remember. And at certain times of the year, the ladies would dress up to the nine and wearing a one-of-a-kind skyrocketing hats for the Ascot, which is become somewhat the Oscar party for the horse-racing 'industry'.

And equestrian has also been an inspiration for many fashion houses like Gucci, which is famous for the signature horsebit pieces and the 'webbing' in their accessories - that is drawn from the horse-riding arena back in Italy. And Ralph Lauren too which is famous for their 'Polo Ralph Lauren' range and by which their emblem that features the polo sport. Mentioning RL, the fashion house has released four new fragrances under the 'Big Pony' range. Easily recognized in four names - No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 (just like Dolce & Gabbana did) and in four different prominent colors - the perfumes caters for different individuals based on the scents that they have.

#1 (blue) is Sporty, #2 (red) is Seductive, #3 (green) is Adventurous and #4 (yellow) is Stylish. (Now they seem to name like the Spice Girls, lol). Having tested all of them at Boots recently, my personal picks are #1 and #3 coz they are very fresh and quite citrusy, just like what a typical Scorpio would love. Oh, the bottle only come in 75 mL version, so big that it's handful! But, if you like to have 'em all, there's also a giftset version in 15 mL bottle of each fragrance.

On the clothing side that is inspired by Equestrian is by Topman, with their latest LTD range featuring 'horses' on the sweater, t-shirt and vest. Quite nice, though I can't find 'em in their flagship store in Oxford Circus. I like the vest coz the horses doesn't really showing too 'eagerly' unlike both of the jumper and the t-shirt where you can really see the horse head even from 1 miles away. Ahaks. Oh, they also got a jodhpur pants, which is also inspired by the sport.
