BigFatLove: Burberry Studded Collar Shirts

S
I love when Burberry started to break out from its traditional mould and embrace the spirit of punk in the new collection for Fall/Winter 2010. It seems that they wanna venture into tapping the younger customers to also wear the brand which has been so long synonymous with the older generation in the yesteryears. I think that's a great move by Burberry coz they gotta diversify their collection in order for it to grow and further establish their name to all walks of life. Not just for those who like classic Burberry, but also who love to see something edgy side of the brand as well.

And the edgy side it is, coz these shirts really screams punk when you look at the embellished metallic conical studs. To me it never look tacky coz the studs only confined to the collar, to add a little flair to the monochrome Beat check and the plain white shirt. I think it looks quite rock'n'roll chic especially when Chris Bailey is really into music scene nowadays. For me to also like any embellished clothes too these days, I think these shirts look quite cool... as if there's an element of surprise if people ask "who are you wearing? - Burberry!"

Anyway, these shirts are of soft cotton with concealed placket and single button cuffs. If you think its too pricey (£175), then get the one that I tried before at River Island in white version. Or you can also DIY it coz it's not that hard to do it your own studded shirt.
