Boy, I'm always excited when Sony come up with new gadgets coz they are for sure know how to slim things down. From the walkman, to digicam to even lappies, to me Sony is the epitome of miniaturization. And when there's a buzz out there in the blogosphere about the new lappies gonna be revealed by Sony, I can't wait to join in the band too.
Not even a month the Sony Vaio W is released to the market, they came up with a new kiddie. This time is the Vaio X. As cliche as the name goes, you might expect a whole lots of things going on with the new laptop.
- Xtra thin - this is perhaps the thinnest notebook or netbook (whatever you wanna call it) at about half an inch thin!
- Xtra light - tauted to be less than 700 g (that's less than 1.5 pounds?!). That'll make it Xtra portable.
- Xtra viewable compared to Vaio P as it perked up the screen to 11.1" (similar to their TZ series). Now cropping images can be done easily without squinting your eyes too much.
- Xtra connectable (?) with Sony 'everywair' WWAN sim slot, enabling blogging can be done anywhere regardless of wifi zone.
Though, I'm not pretty sure whether it is that Xtra powerful coz rumor has it it's gonna be donning Atom processor or new Intel CULV under those carbon fiber body. Also, the X gonna be using the new Windows 7. But with only 2 USB ports, hmm.... not much of a stunner isn't it? Still, judging by the images @ Engadget, I think it does rocks.
Other features include SD/MS slot, VGA port, Kensington lock and a.. err.. folding feet at the bottom so that you can prop it up to attach the ethernet cable (???).
Released date? Probably October. Just wish the price is far less than Vaio P so that all of us can afford one. :)
