It's been a long time I haven't taken a stroll along Charing Cross Road. This is because my usual mode of transport whenever I went to the film premiere at Leicester Square is by the Tube. just a couple of stops from the college, I'm right in front of the movie stars on the red carpet in less than 10 minutes. But if I walk, or take any bus it means I'll add another 5-10 minutes to it - a possibility to miss my venture with the A-listers.

But last Bank holiday weekend, after disappointed that I can't get into college coz they have locked the access, I decided to have a detour to the Covent Garden area, starting from Charing Cross Road at Tottenham Court Road station and going all the way to the Leicester Square. I have to say it's kinda endearing to see what the street has to offer which is different from Oxford Street which is just nearby.

There're lots of bookshops, used and new which include Foyle's that has been featured in Time Out London 50 Best Shops (which also houses my fav coffee shop, Ray's Jazz Cafe); accessories outlets selling the likes of skull rings and all the gothic-inspired jewellery, there are also lots of stores selling musical instruments... and many more. Charing Cross Road is indeed another jewel need to be discovered by the tourist when visiting London. Just for a quick guide, if you're heading south towards Trafalgar Square - the left side of Charing Cross road is the Covent Garden area while on the right side is Soho (which include Chinatown).

Anyway, I snap some photo on shoes that I found interesting. One is the giant shoes at Palace Theatre where Priscilla Queen of the Desert Musical is playing, starring Jason Donovan. What a very big stilletto!

And while snooping around, I also found a shoe store right after the Shaftesbury Avenue ... which I can't recall the name. I like the decor and whole ambience of the store. But what is more interesting is the window display which they brilliantly decorate. Alongside the shoes, they put little quotes that got to do with shoes... brilliant!
