They say third time's a charm. But I think for Antony Price 'Priceless' collection, it's the fourth that proves it's a true winner. When I first heard that the iconic Brit designer who's synonymous with glam rock gonna collaborated with the highstreet chain Topman last year, I can say I'm quite excited. Ecstatic in fact, expecially when seeing all the press-released pictures that shows the skinny silhouettes and eye-catching colors for the suits designed. Not until when I truly got my chance to try it on... my excitement suddenly waning when I found out how the fit and fabric really were. Come on, who wears tafetta suit these days? (Though I'm really lusting over the snake-print macs!).
Then more collections coming... and I can't bear but hating it everytime. The second... the third..eew.. I'm a celebrity, get me out of here!! But then.. BAM! It's the fourth. It's Autumn/Winter 2010 collection that I can finally put my stamp of approval saying I'm truly loving 'em all. Though there's limited number of pieces than the previous; they're dark, mysterious, hot, edgy and absolute rockability status has risen again - that's all I can say about it.
You got leather jacket with multi-buttons that's really skims the body. And with a belt - who can say no to that! And then there's this asymmetric padded, quilted jacket with an oversized collar which looks fantastic. Though I'm not a big fan of anything nylon, but this one can put anything at Uniqlo to shame coz the look itself is expensive and high-fashion.
And then there's a wool cowl neck peacoat which reminds me to the one that Raquel Zimmerman wears in that recent +J Uniqlo ad campaign. It's not your stupid typical peacoat - this is edgy coz the collar itself exudes its own story! Another piece which is the military jacket - that's better than last year's version by million miles coz it's more fitted and the design is much voila. I really love the 'breast-plate' lookalike front which is seen before at Galliano FW09. Splendid.
But my fav piece would deff be the grey wool long military trench coat that set my pulse racing. Hot - that's the most understated word I can use. The crested buttons, the oversized lapels, the 'just about right' length, the awesome fit and the most important - waist hugging - it's the one item that I think everyone MUST have! If you think Burberry military trench is way too pricey - get this one by Antony Price... you'll definitely rock the look, no doubt.
Above all: love this collection, absolutely. To Antony... you've truly nailed it this time. Perfectly. And they're truly PRICELESS!
