Ann Demeulemeester has its own signature when it comes to footwear especially sneakers. It has to go up high beyond the calves. Or in my term, ultra high coz when I compared it with other hi-tops they're actually taller than the rest. Previous seasons there has been quite similar look but with laces and side zipper openings. For Spring/Summer 2011 it went for Velcro straps instead, with fastenings all the way to the top (6 of them if you count!).
Comes in black and white, the sneakers are made of premium cowhide leather for a smooth and supple feel, with leather covered outsoles. Unlike most of towering high boots and sneakers, this one doesn't have any backside zipper - so, you've gotta take an extra effort to put it on. Nevertheless, I love the slim form factor that looks awesome if you pair it with any slimmer or skinny jeans. Oh, when seeing any skyhigh footwear, I always tend to wear with my jeans tucked in. It'll look much edgy - plus, that's how people know that you're wearing a 'fierce' shoes, silly...
Price? Expect to pay at least USD$1020 per pair. Yikes!
Okay, try looking at the black one. I was about to say.. whaaa? coz it truly a spitting image of my own strappy hi-top sneakers from Gianfranco Ferre that I got last year. See... very similar, huh? If you notice, I tucked my jeans inside the sneakers. That's how it supposed to look! :D
