When the first model came out on the runway during Victoria Beckham FW11 show, I was like...whoa, is this a revolution? Why? Coz it seems that the model is wearing a hijab - a typical headscarf worn by Muslim women. Okay, it might not be the exact hijab - it's a hooded dress - but it does resembles a hijab, don't you think? And the rest of the models did wear the headress as well, in a form of swimming-cap lookalike. So is this a revolution by Mrs. VB?
I think it's a great move that Mrs. Beckham did the range of dresses that not only looks so stunning, very fluid and in gorgeous color palettes, yet the best thing is they're not too figure hugging and suits for Muslim women in general. Some of them like in the first three pix can be worn as itself since they're not too revealing. Whereas the remaining can be worn either with a jacket outside (the sleeveless, to cover the arms) and with a skirt or jeans (the shorter dress). Somehow I'm thinking Mrs. VB is trying her hands out to into designing busana Muslimah, and is she tapping into the Muslim market in Dubai?
Anyway, the whole collection are stunning, nonetheless. Simplicity chic that she's really famous for. And for these lots, who am I thinking could wear it well? None other than Sheikha Mozah, that is.
