Etc... Etc... Scarfology

Monday, 30th Nov 2009.

It was after office hour when I suddenly had to rush home to change my jeans coz I got some spill on it. So, I got on the Tube at King's Cross and thank God they're not as packed as the previous one, though at that time of the day loads of people are on their way back home as well. And there I am standing near the door, while reading my Evening Standard just to kill the time. Otherwise I'll be staring at other people's faces (and shoes).

While I was so drawn into my reading (it was the Style section as usual), a guy who is standing next on the other side of the door, looking entirely like a City boy with the tie and stuff, suddenly asked me something.

The guy: Excuse me. The scarf that you're wearing... is that what you call a snood? (Pointing to the snood that I wore that day, over my leopard print jumper)

Me: Yes. (smile). Are you reading Scarfology in the Standard?

The guy: (smile) Yes, I do. (and then giggle). Where do you get it? Looks cool...

Me: Thanks. H&M.

The guy: Owh...

Me: You can get it there. They're quite cheap, less than 10 pounds. And there're some nice choices too. Other stores.. they're like slightly expensive. More than 15, 16 pounds. (I can't believe I'm explaining to this guy. As if I'm reading out of a teleprompter, lol! ).

The guy: (looking surprise) Owh... great. Thanks. (smile)

Me: (looking at the shoes) Nice shoes. Oliver Sweeney? (smile)

The guy: (looking surprise again) Oh, thanks. Yes (giggle) How do you know?

Me: I saw them before at Bond Street. Yeah, great shoes.

The Tube suddenly stop at Highbury & Islington. It's his stop.

The guy: Nice talking to you. And thanks...for the snood.. thing. See you later.

Me: Cheers. (smile. See you later? Probably not. Lol!)

Hmmm... London, London, London. Last time people chat me on the street about my shoes. Now people chat me about my snood. Am I making great style impression? Hope so. I love London. :)
