Autumn/Winter 2010: Burberry Prorsum

S
It's 4.30 pm on Saturday. I am absolutely late. My driver is not helping at all coz the car he's driving is too slow like hell. Or, let me put it this correctly - I am the one who's late, so no way I should blame other people. Coz I know the show gonna started at 5, so why am I wasting time in the morning in London? I should've gone to Milan way earlier. Nggggg.....

Then the clock's ticking. 4.45 pm. Arggghhh!!? Am I gonna make it on time? The car suddenly stop, then I gushed out of it... running through the crowd, passed through the security and I voila! I finally made into the venue. I searched for a seat. Aha! Finally got it. The best seat in the house! Yess... But hey, why is it too damn hot in here? I know it's winter, but does the heater is on full power?? I'm literally m e l t i n g . . . . . . Btw, it's great that the show hasn't started yet, and I'm not that late after all.

While waiting for the show, I put on 'shoutout' in my FB. "In Milan. Waiting for Burberry Menswear FW10/11 show. Can't wait!" Then someone reply '(translation) you've gone to Milan without telling...'. Lol! Yeah, I'm in Milan. In Burberry show. But ONLINE! yes... all at the comfort of the seat in the library, switching on my netbook with the free wifi there. So, holla! You've been punk'd! (Oh the car that i said before is the train CARriage. And the driver is the Tube driver. Sorry..LOL!)

Anyway. Burberry Prorsum Autumn/Winter 2010 (or they say it in Milan, Autunno Inverno). What can I say about it? Two words: Military and Volume. Ok, that's 3 words. Lol. Btw, love the interpretation of army look that includes long and short coats in olive, navy and dark taupe color (or whatever you wanna call it). Some got embellishments like the bling bling made of the metal buttons on the cuffs and the shoulder, the jacket has a brilliant zipper on the waist replacing the belt, and yes, pretty simple but not a bland military look. A couture army, perhaps.

I just love what Robbie is wearing. Great jacket with pants tucked in the boots...

Talking about volume, you got these ginormous sheepskin collar on the coats. Kinda have the old Victorian Queen Elizabeth feel to it. Probably that's where Chris Bailey took the inspiration - all way back to the history book, but giving a modern man twist in it. Superb.

One particular piece that I like is the shaggy rug, pile wool look of the white jumper worn by Robert Rae. Looks very cosy worn in the cold winter night. :)

And not to mention, the Burberry signature - the macs - are given some modern cut and appears somewhat quite voluminous.

One thing that I truly love is when the denim shirts never die off and seen in many pieces during the show. So, who says denim shirt is not cool?! :)

What made me truly excited watching the show is when Burberry Prorsum AW10 glorify the tucking in of the pants inside the boots. Coz, that what I wear and will always do during this kind of season. (And I did wear the same style when watching the show too). When I previously read in ASOS magazine that 'it's not cool to tuck in the pants in the boots', so I'll say to them - eat your words! :)

Overall, what a splendid show. Great collection, great ambience and the models are all look fresh and healthy (no more gaunt look!). :D
