Page 3 of Evening Standard today is splattered with the image of Cristiano Ronaldo in the new ad campaign for Emporio Armani underwear. Yes, he's the new face for the undie, replacing Davd Beckham. ES even tauted that Cristiano Ronaldo has done a three strikes by following the footsteps of Beckham. Man U player? Check. Real Madrid footie? Check. Armani underwear? He is now. :)
What do I think about the undie? Though I'm more into CK's compared to EA's, the new range pretty much the same like the previous collection. Maybe the obvious difference is the label on the strap and the phoenix motif which is now stamped on the side as well. I like the fact that they look seamless and very much sportier. Fabric wise? Well, hav to check that out when it hit the stores soon. (I'm expecting microfiber since it's much softer, sweat-absorbent and fast drying :D)
About the ad campaign, who did better? I think Cristiano Ronaldo got better physique than Beckham coz he appeared even more ripped, compared to Beckham who's IMHO more flat in real life. But the pix somehow look very much being touched up, esp in the facial area (or is it just too much makeup?). And his bulge look pretty normal, as compared to Beckham who look as if he'd pack a bunch of satsumas under that! (Please don't sue me... ahaks!)
The collection will be in store pretty much soon. And hopefully Londoners will see a giant poster of Cristiano Ronaldo at Selfridges, just like Beckham did last year.
