I had a presentation that afternoon. It's perhaps my last seminar that I'll be able to present and share what I've been doing all this while to my fellow colleagues. I've been thinking about this seminar quite a while now. It's not about what I wanna talk coz I practically know what I wanna say. Not because of the powerpoint slides either, coz I finished up all 20+ slides for that 30 min presentation in just 3 hours that morning (effective worker, huh?). And not about the crowd either, since I'm used to speak in front of 2000-3000+ people (being an emcee in more than 16 events in a period of 14 months, yikes!) to giving presentation more than twice weekly in front of a 200+ crowd in yesteryears. I think it's more daunting to speak to a lesser crowd due to the close proximity between you and them. Nggg...
Anyway. What's on my mind (as usual) is - what should I wear? Becoz first impression last forever. No matter if your presentation is crap, it's what you wear is very important too. Coz that's the first thing you gonna attract people's interest. It's what people will remember the first time they saw you.
So, what do I wear then? Something simple. No fuss, no bling bling, nothing. The audience is not a bunch of professionals anyway. Me just playing safe in monochrome theme as usual with the No Name jumper that bought during winter sale and Uniqlo black selvedge denim. The shoes, though at first I was about to wear my new Gucci boots, but since outdoor is being hit by snow pretty bad again, I just do my fashion faux pas by wearing the Zara boots another round.
Safe? Yes. But i just love the sweater especially when it got this shawl-like feature. The fit and fabric is awesome. Money well spent. :)

If you read my tweets then you've probably know this story.
I was having lunch at Charlotte St, suddenly the snow started pouring hard. After finishing my meal, instead of going back to college I made a detour to Trafalgar Square, to see what's really happening out there. Coz that's one of the place where you can see the real fun begins. Water in the pond get frozen, people were everywhere enjoying the heavy downpour of snow while taking snaps here and there.
So, there I am while being so much into capturing the moments with my DSLR, a cute couple approached me. A lovely girl holding a camera and her boyfriend, holding somewhat pen and paper (?). And then he said "can I borrow you for 20 seconds?". 20 seconds? I said okay, thinking that they wanna asked me to take their photograph in that snowy condition too. You know, me taking photo of London most famous landmark with my digicam in the drizzle of snow, I thought they would want someone to capture theirs too with my help.
But oh no. I was wrong. They do want my time - to interview me, instead. Interview? Interview about what? It's kinda funny, I thought, for someone to interview me in this kind of weather condition. Well, apparently they're from London College of Fashion doing a study on what people are wearing. And they asked me a couple of questions about my outfit of that day.
Being in the cold weather, I think my mind is frozen too. I literally have no idea what to answer but one of them being, because it's comfortable. Coz that morning I just pulled out bit and pieces from the closet without thinking too much. Something of a safe bet (again). And comfy, with some padding to keep me warm. And the other two answers, I think are the one that they said themselves. One of it is fashionable. Aha! You said it... Is it fashionable, what I'm wearing? Lol! Just the brown neo-leather hood jacket from Uniqlo + H&M snood + black jeans tucked under Zara lace-up boots - that's all screaming safe bet to me. But if other people said it's fashionable, hey, I can't complaint to that? :D
Oh, btw. They took of a snap of me too, and said 'You look cool in the heavy snow'. (Or did I misheard that they said 'it' rather than 'you'? Ahaks!). I'm guessing I'm gonna be a case study @ LCF. Isn't it awesome!? Think I know what their verdict would be when they projected my pics on the big screen - eeww, what was he thinking when he wears that?? Lol!!
Still, when I look back thinking - me being singled out, among tons of people at Trafalgar Square during that snowy noon, for someone to think I look quite fashionable - I assume I made a pretty good impression, huh?
Now, where's the Sartorialist snapper... :)
