Matthew Williamson Debut Menswear Line

S

What do I learn from the previous collection by Matthew Williamson for H&M? It's a big yikes, actually. Though I also bag some of the white shirt and stripe jumper which I think are the acceptable things to buy, other than that it's a big blah. Especially the hoodies and those print suits. A ginormous cringe factor to me. Ugghh...! Not a huge success too, if you relate to the quite a lot amounts of clothes hanging on the 'SALE' section five weeks after its debut. IMHO, MW doesn't bring enough of his true design DNA to the men's collection which he's famous for. Geometric prints? I don't think so. Damn...the girls always got great stuff, huh?

Btw, fret not coz Mr Williamson did take the previous 'lack of success' with a huge bang by his soon-to-be-released debut menswear mainline collection. My verdict? Simple but awesome. This is what Matthew Williamson is all about. The paisley prints and beetle motifs, the eye-catchy colors like vivid green, electric blue, deep pink and silver gray, but still wearable without a doubt.

I just adore the scarves, really. The cashmere jumpers which the man himself said "I know these jumpers will become seasonless staples in my own wardrobe" - they really look like in a perfect fit. Not too tight, not too loose either. Very slim-fitting, body-skimming . And yes, the proof of MW is in the his signature prints which some defines it as jet-set-meets-Goa-traveler prints. Love it!

When is it gonna be in store? From next February. If you're in London, check his boutique in Mayfair and also online, plus at Harrods too. Delish.....
