zaBigFatSnoop: River Island

If you've been following the fashion fad, military is the trend of the season. Not just in autumn/winter 09/10, but also in the next autumn/winter 2010/11 too. Just look at what Burberry did in last Saturday's show. Such splendid!

Anyway. Military is still a strong collection at River Island. Drummer boy, Royal Guard... everything goes. Like this one which is kinda a spitting image of my previous RI's drummer boy jacket. Yes, they look similar but the major difference here is the fabric. It's cotton. And when I said cotton, unlike mine which is very thick one, this jacket is very 'thin'. Hence, it tend to get creases very easily. The color is a bit subdued soft black, which I think look a bit unflattering. And the buttons are not metal at all, rather they're just plastic. Nevertheless, the fit is awesome!

Another great jacket is this wool one. Love the grey color and the diagonal cut. But, not pretty excited about the buttons which i think too cheap as well (but u can always change it if u DIY it!). The fit and fabric is just awesome.

The other military-inspired is this cotton symmetrical one. The fabric is quite similar to the drummer boy jacket (first pix) so it's wrinklephilic! Btw, nice design though i prefer if the waist is a teeny bit hugging.

Some new knitwear also made into the collection. Like this gradual brown wool cardigan with metal crest buttons. One thing about this cardi is - it really hugs the body like no other. Very body-fitting! So, better pumped up ur body well before wearing this one. :)

Yet, i love this half-sleeved merino wool cardi. The way it hangs slightly below the butt and the neckline which is quite low, made it look very edgy. I just love it.

Another new piece is this blue rose shirt that i mentioned in the previous post. Not truly liking the fabric (which I feel quite meshy), but the color and the fit is just so wonderful. It truly scream 'spring'! :D
