That's a quote from John Mooney, the head designer of Asos Black when asked what does the collection meant to him. And I couldn't agree more after seeing some pieces from the collection - a 'high-fashion' line from the most profitable online shopping site - I have to say, most pieces I would like to wear it myself.
And one of the must-have items which I think is totally hot is this biker jacket. Why do I say it's hot?
1. It's leather. So, that itself is my fav material which scream luxe!
2. It's a biker jacket. Anyone, who is everyone who roam planet Earth and love fashion MUST have a biker jacket in their closet. Period.
3. Symmetric. I can say that though the zipper on any biker jackets is asymmetric in its design (by which this one is not excluded either), yet the front pockets of this jacket is well proportioned. Meaning, it has the same pocket on both sides making the whole look almost symmetric. Or psuedo-symmetric, if you like. To me that is very, very hard to find coz most of the biker jackets that I found out there, be it designer labels or highstreet find, they either has one slip-in pocket on one side and a buttoned one on the other. Which is a sad really coz the 'cool' factor of it suddenly collapse. But not this one (my big yeay! to Asos Black team).
Oh, another feature: the furry collar. You know shearling collars are huge at Burberry which kinda spread everywhere on the highstreets too. Though this one has it, yet it is detachable - making it more versatile since you can rock both ways, with or without the fur collar, once the trend ends when new season follows. Which is cool because the jacket can 'return' to its seasonless look that can be worn all year round.
And I also love the other details like the stitchings and the ribbed feature on some part of this jacket that add a little edgy flair to it. Awesome!
