SEED is probably the only local 'highstreet' label that I have in my wardrobe. Not so much pieces though, since I tend to select their accessories instead, like bags and belts coz they're much more worth to buy (which most of them emulating the seasonal runway look). Their price range is quite on the higher side (relating to the cost of living here), given that cheapest items normally starts from RM40 and above - around £8, still it's not so much any student's typical grasps. Btw, I like SEED coz they're much more trendy and most of the cut is pretty slimming and accentuating the silhouette, in addition to good quality fabric used which suits the weather in this country.
Mentioning the clothes and quality fabric, I still have the knitted cotton t-shirts that I bought six years ago which is still good to be worn. Though they have been washed so many times (including dried using the harsh tumble drier in London), they still maintain its form; by which I'm very happy about.
Anyway. For the new SS11 (I can't believe they did the 'seasonal' thingy) - the color palette revolves around muted and urbane hues. Lots of greys - I mean, very lots of greys - from the jackets to knitwear, trousers and shorts; the tone of the colors dominates the lookbook. In addition, there's black and white as usual, and sky blue, navy, red and dusky pink as well as some injection of pattern like checks and micro-floral.
Key items to check out: the sandals - especially the one that looks like the McQueen's Clamity, as well as those that looks similar to Louis Vuitton's SS11 collection in strappy black and white. Also, the presence of jumpsuit and skorts (skirt+shorts hybrid, which sometimes emulate the kilts) could inject some daring choice for those who're brave enough to wear.
One thing for sure: the collection looks fresh with a little high-fashion flair.
You can check all the pieces at their website; yet these are my six fav looks...
