What do you want this Spring? Well, if you ask that to most people here, we don't actually have spring. Spring onions and spring rolls, yes - but not spring season. In fact we have only two seasons in this country -hot and wet, or North-East monsoon or South-West monsoon, to be exact (blimey, I still remember my Geography!). And most of the time, it's summer! A very humid summer. Yet, if you go further up to the Northern or down to the Southern hemisphere, you can definitely find all four seasons which you-know-what. Oh, wait a minute - you can still find all four seasons here too: at Bukit Cerakah, that is! Haha!
Anyway, one thing I love when Spring comes is the daffodils at Green Park, nearby Buckingham Palace. They're fantastic. As a matter of fact, if you don't visit Green Park during early Spring when you're in Blighty, then you'll miss out the best part of London. You can practically found two types of daffodils there - white and yellow - by which you may be drowned by the 'rivers' of flowers scattered around the park. Just take a look at the photos down here, which I took almost two years ago. Aren't they amazing? Man, I missed that part of London for sure, but dunno whether those daffodils are still there coz last year there has been some construction going on near Green Park tube station. Hopefully the daffs are still there to cheer up Londoners after the gloomy winter!
So. Back to the question: what do you want for Spring 2011? New clothes? New shoes? New accessories? Well, if you ask me, the answer is simple - all of the above, please! This season has seen some great accessories from the big designer houses like Burberry, Gucci and Louis Vuitton which offers new and updated design of their signature collection. LV for example went all out with their denim bags which looks quite vintage and slightly worn, yet with a nice twist of having army green leather trim. Burberry Prorsum has these bridle leather totes that looks so simple yet very practical. At Gucci, I love their use of exotic skins as well as variety of bag choices from gym drawstring bags and diamante canvas tote, to the buttery soft plain tan leather and basket-weaved leather totes; there are many to choose from.
One thing for sure: it's time to spring clean your old look into new trendy styles!
