Louis Vuitton Travellers @ Spring/Summer 2012

S
Louis Vuitton menswear is now under a new direction of Kim Jones, who is previously with dunhill for a couple of seasons. With his new entry to the luxury French fashion house meaning that there'll be no nonsense in term of how the clothes gonna appear. They're gonna be classic to what menswear should be; probably with a slight Brit twist with the reinterpretation of the harrington jacket, the macs and tailoring which is somehow echoed to what he did for the House of dunhill.

What is interesting is the evolution of the quilted pieces which is what the Northern English normally famous for; now that they're given the quatrefoils finish, i.e. the signature Louis Vuitton logo which are seen on some jackets as well as the bags.

Talking about the bags, I love some of them which are breath of fresh air to the typical LV monogramme canvas that we're normally being fed with. Instead the quatrefoils are visible either stitched on the technofabric or imprint on the neoprene, making it look different and less conspicuous. The bag designs, oh.. doesn't it reflect a little bit to dunhill? Or to be exact, it's eponymous to the designer himself which I've seen him not only put his trademark - that adjustable double strap - for dunhill, but also previously for Umbro bags about three years ago. And the material - technofabric and neoprene - they're quite waterproof, letting it much dearer to be taken during outdoor travels. For the luxe supremo, there's always croc skin thrown into the collection.
