Hi guys..
This is my interview with Ms. Rhoda Scott. She's living Legend for me.
I Love her so much.. I hope i can watch her perfome again... :)

Kiki : So this is your first time to Indonesia right?

Jadi, ini pertama kalinya kamu datang ke Indonesia kan?

Rhoda : Yes!

Iya! :D

Kiki : What makes you interest by Indonesia?

Apa yang membuat kamu tertarik pada Indonesia?

Rhoda : Well, for first of all-self discovered! Because evidently I’m aware of the existence of Indonesia. There is so many things about it, but until you can know it for yourself personally it seems..just so far away; and now I’m really here! So it’s very exciting.

Jadi.. pertama udah terlihat jelas bahwa aku tau mengenai adanya keberadaan Negara Indonesia, dan banyak hal tentang Indonesia. Kalau kamu belum tau Indonesia dan merasakannya secara langsung, rasanya Indonesia itu jauh banget, terus sekarang aku beneran lagi disini :D (di Indonesia), aku excited banget.

Kiki : How the, how the audience so far?

Pendapat kamu tentang penontonnya sejauh ini gimana?

Rhoda : I thought the audience was just great! And umm.. I already went to the.. uuh..Santana concert last night and uhh.. I thought the people were really-really there! It was just information, they were really-really warm and I thanked them! So they were great.

Mereka hebat! (penontonnya hebat!!) Terus aku udah ke uum.. konsernya Santana tadi malam, dan kalo pendapat aku sih orang2 yang nonton bener2 menikmati, mereka bener2 welcome banget, aku terimakasih banget sama mereka. Singkatnya sih penontonnya hebat

Kiki : Tell us about your music

Coba kamu ceritakan tentang musik kamu.

Rhoda : Pardon me?

Maaf, maksudnya?

Kiki : So..tell us about your music, your album, your single

umm ceritakan mengenai music kamu, album kamu, single kamu

Rhoda : Well I, I made about 20 cd..and umm.. they’re all different.

Jadi aku udah buat kira2 20 cd dan semuanya berbeda2.

Kiki : Yeah..

Rhoda : But the reality from people when they come to a concert, they say “we would like to hear the cd of tonight’s concert.” But in a concert, the thing is the music is chosen for the concert and so it’s never on one cd!

Tapi dalam kenyatannya waktu orang datang ke sebuah konser mereka pengen dengar 1 cd yang bakal dimainkan dalam konser malam mini. Tapi dalam sebuah konser, lagu yang akan dinyanyikan itu udah terlebih dahulu di pilih dan lagunya ga Cuma di ambil dalam satu cd aja.

Kiki : Yeah

Rhoda : But uh..it has to be..it has to be chosen for the place where we are, and for the, the band.. and like this time Thomas Derino and umm If I’d like to choose a song for I know you couldn’t be able to see the light in me.

Lagunya harus.. lagunya harus dipilih sesuai tempatnya, dan bandnya.. dan kali ini si Thomas Derino dan kalau saya boleh memilih saya ambil “For I know you couldn’t be able to see the light in me”

Kiki : How important music is to your life?

Seberapa penting sih yang namanya musik di hidup kamu?

Rhoda : Music is all my life! (laugh) it’s, it’s more than being important

Musik itu udah keseluruhan dari hidup aku (ketawa) maknanya lebih dari sekedar penting.

Kiki : So you want to..to back in the 60? Right?

Kamu katanya pengen balik ke tahun 60an kan?

Rhoda : in..in 1968!

Ke tahun 1968!

Kiki : So the influence be there in your music at that time?

Jadi ada ga musik jaman itu yang mempengaruhi (yang jadi pegangan) kamu?

Rhoda : When I staying in France, I have a.. repertoire that was actually very..diselected. Because I like a lot of different music. And when I first came to France, The French Musician thought that it was not good because, they said “If you play jazz you just have to play Jazz” and umm everything and so for awhile I tried to uuh.. I tried to make my repertoire more appearly Jazz. And then for a moment I thought that this doesn’t make sense! And so I began to uuh..play uh, play whatever I wanna play. Because whatever I can play in the instrument, in the organ, I think I have a right to play it. And so I began, once again, choosing songs tha-that spoke to me, and..and I’ve been doing that, but now in French the critique and the musician are much more liberal because they have become used to a repertoire bigger.. they’re not.. they’re not set criteria in this things

Waktu aku tinggal di Perancis aku punya list lagu konser yang bener2 tidak ter seleksi karena aku suka banyak jenis musik, dan waktu aku pertama kali ke Perancis, musisi perancis tidak berpendapat bahwa ini hal yang tidak bagus, mereka bilang “ kalau kamu mainnya jazz ya musik yang kamu mainkan harus jazz.” Jadi untuk sementara waktu itu aku berusaha membuat list lagu konser yang kelihatannya sepenuhnya Jazz, tapi terus aku merasa ini tidak masuk akal (aku merasa tidak begitu nyaman) jadi pada akhirnya aku mainin aja lagu apapun yang aku pengen; karena apapun lagu yang bisa aku mainkan di sebuah alat musik, misalnya organ- ya.. aku pikir aku punya hak untuk memainkannya. Setelah itu aku mulai lagi memilih lagu yang berbicara kepada aku (yang pas buat aku)dan sampai sekarang itu yang aku lakukan. Tapi sekarang di Perancis para kritikus dan musisi itu mulai memberikan pendapat yang jauh lebih liberal karena mereka telah terbiasa dengan repertoire (list lagu konser) yang lebih ringan dan luas, mereka sudah tidak membuat standart lagi.

Kiki : So do you have been listening to music from different genre?

Jadi apa kamu juga mencoba mendengar lagu2 dari genre yang berbeda?

Rhoda : I try to, yes, I’m interested to all kind of musician. Jazz and uh.. hip hop J

Iya, tentu saja. Aku tertarik pada semua jenis musik. Jazz… hip hop.

Kiki : Ooooh, what do you like?

oooh, apa lagu yang kamu sukai?

Rhoda : Thomas, Thomas has me.. he has made me listening to uhh.. a lot of different music so I’m exposed to other industry

Thomas membuatku mendengarkan lagu2 dari industry yang lain jadi aku juga mendengar lagu2 dari genre lain.

Kiki : Like Lady Gaga? (Laughed)

Seperti Lady Gaga? (Tertawa)

Rhoda : Lady Gaga? Ooh a little (Laughed)

Lady Gaga? Ooh sedikit (tertawa)

Kiki : You did a collaboration with Thomas, right?

Kamu melakukan kolaborasi dengan Thomas kan?

Rhoda : Yes

Kiki : Is there any musician that you’d like to invite to your cooperation, in the next project?

Ada ga musisi lain yang kamu suka? Dan mungkin pengen kamu ajak bikin suatu proyek bareng?

Rhoda : Umm.. I heard a great guitar play tonight at the jam session and uh.. I’d like to-I’m not sure if his an Indonesian ..guitar.. so I’m not..but he was really so good! And wowed me, his name..Dani?

Uuum.. Aku dengar permainan gitar hebat malam ini di Jam session. Aku bakal suka-tapi aku belum tau apa dia orang Indonesia atau bukan. Dia mainnya (main gitarnya) bagus sekali, kalau ga salahnya namanya Dani? (apa jhonny apa dhoni ki gw ga tau namanya hahaha)

Kiki : Dani? I think he’s Indonesia

Dani?Aku rasa dia orang Indonesia..

Rhoda : I think so

Aku rasa kayanya sih begitu.

Kiki : I Hope so

Aku pengennya sih begitu (orang Indonesia)

Rhoda & Kiki : (Laughed)

Kiki : I did magazine for Apple, Apple gadget.,. do you guys, using a gadget like iphone, ipad..maybe?

Jadi aku dari majalah Apple…,Apple Gadget, apa kamu..menggunakan gadgetnya? Kaya Ipad, iphone?

Rhoda : We all have iphone.

Kiki : (Laughed)

Rhoda : And uh. Ihave my mac book in room, at the hotel and uhh.. I used to make music on vnow, and it was really good on the mac

Terus.. aku punya MacBook, sekarang aku taro di kamar aku, di hotel.

Kiki : So! Do you desire to come back to perform in Indonesia again?

Apa kamu mau untuk balik ke Indonesia, untuk konser lagi?

Rhoda : Of course!

Tentu saja!

Kiki : Yeah :D

Ya

Rhoda : and.. and plus.. we.. we.. just came from France the day before yesterday and we leave Monday, Monday evening, and everybody said “Where’re you gonna go? Bali??”

ee.. kita baru datang dari Perancis..kemarin lusa, terus kita baru balik lagi Senin, senin malam. Teman aku bilang “kita mau kemana? Bali?”

Kiki: Yeah Bali is beautiful..

Iya Bali keren banget.

Rhoda : But no, we’re not going to Bali! Oh my Goodness, it’s so terrible we should go to Bali! We didn’t arrange anything and we have concert. I’d like to come back and have time to be able to visit around Jakarta, and then to Bali and wanna see something a little more

Tapi ga! kita ga ke Bali! Oh My goodness, kacau banget kita ga ke bali?! Dan.. dan.. ga, kita sebelumnya ga nyusun rencana sama sekali terus kita harus konser. Tapi aku mau banget balik lagi dan sisihkan waktu untuk aku keliling Jakarta, terus.. ke bali.. terus..ya liat2 apa aja

Kiki : You go to Lombok, it’s beautiful

Kamu pergi ke Lombok deh, tempatnya keren banget.

Rhoda : Yes

Kiki : So this is one question from my follower in twitter, so when you have holiday or time off what you usually you do?

Jadi ini ada satu pertanyaan dari follower aku di twitter, kalau kamu punya waktu buat liburan atau waktu kosong, apa yang mau lakukan?

Rhoda : well since I travel a lot over the time with my profession usually when I’m free-I stay home, and I read, then I do uh.. laundry and..and just uh.. have dinner with friends and everything like that, just-just chilling out. (Laughed)

Jadi kan aku sering bepergian dari waktu ke waktu karena pekerjaan aku, kalau aku lagi bebas nih, aku stay di rumah…, terus aku baca buku, ngurus cucian, makan malam sama temen2, ya hal2 kaya gitu deh. Cuma –chiiling/santai-santai aja. (tertawa)

Kiki : Chilling out

Le flâneur

"Le flâneur" is Giorgis' Christodoulou single from the homonymous new album out now in Greece and Spain and about to be released in Argentina later this Summer.

The clip was directed by Dimitris Silvestros and has the essence of a short film. The lyrics are in French as written by Marthelene Gabon, music is by the artist Giorgis Christodoulou himself and in charge of nostalgic costume direction was Greek Cinema Academy Award Winner Vassilis Barbarigos.

Pleasantly surprised to see Mariangela, Nefeli and members of "Athens Lindy Hop" dancing away "Le flâneur".
