Dimitris Petrou - the show

S
The show opened with Tina Sardela's fashion video, a very pleasant surprise to everyone in the room. Coming soon on your screens but till then, imagine a very well directed abstract clip featuring the creation of a suit with a strangely dark twist.
By now the guests are in the right mood and mode. Lights on, the show is on.
Very feminine women, cutting edge, stylish men. Designs coming in many shapes to match any body according to the sur mesure theme but still reflecting well contemporary fashion. Light brownish grey was an excellent choice of canvas. You can see for yourselves once you've paid a visit to Petrou's showroom any time as of tomorrow.

A well organised show, captivating throughout and real-life, real-people friendly. A great evening then.

Stage direction by Konstantinos Rigos. Get your taste right below. Clip doesn't do it justice, but you'll get the idea:

And yes, they were there too, from left to right, Fashion Paths, The Soho Symposium, Life in Athens, Life Full of Fashion and Fashion Architect. Click on names to see this show through their lenses.

Dimitris Petrou - show intro

S
Have just come home after seeing Dimitri Petrou's presentation, a show well worth sharing. Footage is just too much and need some sorting out before releasing. However, here's the intro part for your eyes only:Very atmospheric. Men and women greeted the audience as oversized puppets hanging from the ceiling. Especially made handles were created by 2D, a very talented team of two that's walking on the ideal line between space design and accessories creation.

Collection's basic colour, you can already tell: a lighter shade of grey.

Let me catch my breath, transfer some data and get back to you with what followed.

Dimitris Petrou, Sur Mesure

S
Dimitri Petrou's name won't be on schedule on either of the fashion weeks about to take place in Athens. The reason? The designer has plans for you as both the model and the viewer of his collection every single day as of October 8th.

That's when his brand new showroom at 23 Kanari str., Kolonaki ,opens its doors with an excellent concept. You can touch the garments, try them on and order them to perfectly match your body type. 'Sur Mesure' means 'made to measure' and that's what it's all about.

The collection as well as the 'Sur Mesure' project will be unveiled at a carefully organised event on October 7th, at a gallery in the heart of Athens, to a limited audience. A video presentation of the clothes' look-and-feel will open the evening, exclusive screenshots of which you can check out below:
The video was created by Tina Sardelas and I can't wait for it to leak online. It is expected to be an exciting, original work reflecting the spirit of the collection in action. (click on link and check out her work, she's GOOD)

Last but not least, the clothes will be men's and women's in equal measures and the 'Sure Mesure' concept will allow prices to fit each budget just as nice. Sounds good, will be keeping you posted!

Evangelos Kavathas - A/W 10

S
With the dates of the next fashion weeks announced, thought I might sizzle the mood. Shots and clip are from Evangelos Kavathas A/W 10 show last March, and since Autumn/Winter 10 is now, so now is this collection.
Holding the precious guest list at the door, Margarita-looking-hot-Gourgourini. (read what it was like for her here)
Seating hero Spiros Zanias and (the stylish back of) Fashion Paths.
Shots from Kavathas' first personal show themed 'Fragile' by professional fashion photographer Patricia Munster.
Front row-ers Life Full of Fashion (her report on the show), designer Dimitris Petrou, journalist & blogger Dimitris Papadopoulos and The Soho Symposium (her report on the show).

And last but not least, a show is never over before these moments take place:

A well structured first show, with burgudy red and navy blue making strong guest appearances to remind us that 'Fragile' is not weak and class is not always black.

More A/W 10 shows here and here.
S/S 11 catwalk fever, coming soon.

Celebrity Skin's show in 2 hours

S
(above: Dimitris Petrou, Katerina Kontogiorgou, Eleni Mparla, Evangelos Kavathas)*
This is the moment this blog has been waiting for! In about two hours it's show-time o'clock for Celebrity Skin's collection 'Desireless Humanoid'.

I am between charging cameras, looking for my shoe (got one, one to go) and making calls to be sure dear winners' invites are at the reception (they are). And whilst madness is taking over my headquarters, chez Celebrity Skin's they are all set and relaxed enough to be cracking jokes and slipping me tips of what's to follow!

Dimitris Strepkos has just revealed that:

-Katerina Kontogiorgou will be doing the make-up, InBerlin Tzako are in charge of the hair.
-make-up will be nude and natural (it's gonna be 'desireless humanoids' on the catwalk you see)
-it's going to be his partner in crime, Eleni Mparla, wearing the closing piece whilst taking the bow by his side!

Excited. Leaving for AXDW venue in one hour and you should too. Magic invite holders or not, you can always watch the catwalk action at the projection above the bar;)

*Have said it before, isn't it nice to see designers hanging out together?
