Louis Vuitton Oriental-inspired Scarf

S
Designers from the late Yes Saint Laurent to John Galliano and Jean-Paul Gaultier have long turned their fascination for the East into inspiring creations while China-only designs for Chanel, Prada and Salvatore Ferragamo underscore the Mainland's growing commercial leverage in the luxury market.

Spring/Summer 2011 sees Louis Vuitton's Marc Jacobs and Paul Helbers reigniting the trend for all things oriental and we're suprised how harmoniously well the motifs of elegent dancing dragons and intricate Chinese zodiac prints (reworked by New York's A-list tattoo artist Scott Campbell) blend with the brand's trademark monogram symbols, inspired in turn by graphic Japanese quatrefoils and flower symbols during the late Victorian era, without looking tacky at all.

Scarves @ Gucci Fall/Winter 2010/11

Are scarves still in style for summer 2010? I think lots of people ask that, and some even get stumbled upon this blog when they Google it. (quite cool isn't it? :D). IMO, scarves are always in regardless of season - the most important is how you choose the material. I have a lot of scarves myself - the lightweight cotton or jersey for Spring/Summer and wool or cashmere for Fall/Winter.

But if you think you only like to wear scarves during the cold season, then better up your style satire for fall/winter 2010 with these one from Gucci. Seen in the recent lookbook, I actually love the wool diamante in dark brown. Very classic and I can see it's longevity in one's wardrobe. It also available in the cream/ivory version featuring the iconic Gucci diamante.

Sometimes I love volumes, and these tartan scarves in many color choices is perfect for it. Quite large in size and since it's cotton mix that's why it need to be slightly oversized to keep you warm. So, where does it screams Gucci, you ask? Look closer and you can see the Gucci diamante spreading across the fabric.

And for those who doesn't mind doing a bit of gender bender, this white scarf with black interlocking GG look quite nice to be worn. It's cashmere, so what more luxe can you ask for. =)
