The last time I met Mr Valentino Garavani - the man behind the superbrand, Valentino - is during the Fashion Rocks held at Royal Albert Hall, London back in 2007. It's kinda surreal meeting the man himself, but Mr Valentino is very friendly indeed. Approachable and quite chatty too. Not to mention that his creations - especially the dresses for the ladies are nothing but exceptional. During that night, Mr Valentino received a big diamond, not a real one - but made of crystal by the event's sponsor, Swarovski. Is he gonna be remembered? Without a doubt, absolutely.
Though he doesn't run the business anymore (probably overlooking the whole process, still), the brand must go on. And for the Spring/Summer 2010 collection, it's nice to see some of the bags and footwear for men as well. Like the leather tote bags in somewhat mesh or with lace on it. Kinda have Bottega Veneta feel to it. Very intricate. And the sandals, they look awesome too. I love the lo-lad (low gladiator) with the adjustable buckle. Very delish. They'll definitely made your summerwear went all high fashion! :)
