Ring a bow

S
New ring. No seriously, it's a ring.
I have a thing for gift-bows thus this was a yei upon sight - even though I am not a rings person. It's another one of my Sugarline Productions treasures, all glossy-fied, covered by liquid glass.
Came in many colours but I went for gold. Once slid on my finger some irony effect hit me and I just had to have it. Sugarline Productions will be participating at the Synch version of the MeetMarket starting tomorrow*

*I heard you have to be a Synch ticket holder to enter the area so keep it in mind.

Meet Market goes Synch

S
Speaking of music festivals and fashion in the previous post, here's a piece of what's happening in the hood this Summer: the next Meet Market will be held in collaboration with Synch Festival. In their own words:

This June, the Meet Market presents its largest event to date, in collaboration with Synch Festival. Come find over 85 stalls of local creations and innovations from designers, artists, collectors, record stores and independent businesses, all under one massive roof in the “Nikos Gastos Hall” of 'technopolis', City of Athens.

Together with Synch Festival, and along side the musical & multi media lineup, the Meet Market will be joining forces with its own mixed media roster of clothes, accessories, vintage & retro items, art and objects, organic food, biological bath & beauty products, records, books, interactive games, free prizes, dj sets and good vibes.

June, Friday 4 & Saturday 5, 2010
19:00 - 04:00 each day

Strigles darlings on grass carpet

S
Remember watermelon? Here comes strawberry.
There's no better way to spend a Sunday to having tons of unexpected work to deal with, going to the Meet Market and catching up with friends. Sadly, this time it was a walk-in, walk-out for me, but seeing Christina of Strigles Craftime pumped me up with positive energy (and my wish-list with a pair of well made, cork pumps).
Strigles' boutonnieres blossoming on that mannequin. Actually, paste them on a dress and you get quite the couture piece for Spring, don't you think?
Between muah-muah hello and see-you-soon goodbye, I couldn't help noticing the grass carpet it all seemed to magically grow out of. And the waffle ring of course. Too cute and me, too hungry.
And hand-made rag earings clipped on vertically growing grass. The detail on those flowers. Quite appropriately placed there actually! Are we feeling Spring yet?

Beyond Fash Weeks

S
Feels like ages since I last made a plain simple post. With tomorrow being the last day of what proved out to be a fabulous AXDW, I guess I'll have all the time in the world to do the posting I've got lined up. Between FWA and AXDW, the Meet Market took place at TAF and I managed to go. Here's what 5 euros bought me at about half past midnight last Tuesday. It's a beautiful candy pink pair of LEGO earrings by the designer duo 2D, packed safely inside a... sauce container. Well made, more than affordable, ever so cute. Next Meet Market dates, here.

FeelingVintage, today

S
FeelingVintage is a brand all about vintage fashion and second hand clothes. Since their store is an eshop currently under construction, they are wondering around Athens and this weekend is a good chance to get to know them. They will be at the "Eco" edition of The Meet Market, taking place at Pure Bliss, Romvis 24 in Athens.

I've been informed they are packed with dresses from the 70’s and a great selection of 80’s and 90’s stuff. Some clothing is not even ever worn, some are second-hand and everything is retro. From sportswear to one-of-a-kind evening gowns, clothes are in great condition, very well preserved and in affordable prices. Look out for surprises from the past lying around as every item is unique!

The "FeelingVintage" concept is all about creating eco-awareness in the way we dress, just like trying to ride a bike in the city, eating biological food, using planet friendly detergents and cosmetics, recycling, volunteering to environmental actions.

In their own simple words: Why does this inner necessity of constantly buying new stuff still remain? You could think of an alternative way of dressing up, mixing vintage or second hand clothes with new ones!

FeelingVintage will be @ The "ECO" Meet Market :: 19 & 20/09, Pure Bliss :: Romvis 24A & Kolokotroni :: 11:00 - 23:00
