Milan Fashion Week : The Bags. Part 2.

S
Ermenegildo Zegna
Suedes galore... from the satchels, to totes and backpack, Spring/Summer 2012 promises that suede is taking its reign in the Zegna household. I truly love the adjustable handle trim, which color looks so harmonius with the body of the bags.

Etro
One thing that I love is the first pix : the sailor bag with paisley print. Truly delish...

Gucci
There's an reinterpretation of the heritage Gucci one more time as the fashion house dug the archive and modernise the duffel bags. If FW10 they came as fully covered, this time they're in the form of tote with the middle flap. The design, does it somehow echoed the Celine bag?

There's also some retro vibes seen on the holdall, as well as the scale down of Gucci webbing from three stripes to two.

My personal pick is absolutely the white diamante tote. Fantastico!

object of lust... :)

Port 1921
The mlutch invasion again. Looks very cool with the chain strap that hold to your wrist.

Roberto Cavalli
Cavalli probably thinking about travel on a yacht coz the bag got the stripes which gives the marina feel. I like the big travelling bag, which somehow reminds me of old movies. Very retro and classics.

And the best pick: the bucket bag with stripes canvas body and leather trim. Ultimate summer carryall...

Versace
The large tote in cream and tan leather reminisces Burberry SS09. And I like the extra little touch of the geometric Greek pattern on the bags that Versace is really famous for.

Z Zegna
Ethnic-inspired stripes briefcase for a gentlemen who dare to be different.

Versace for H&M

S
So, the news is out and everyone now knows that Versace is gonna be collaborating with H&M this coming Fall/Winter. Oh well, didn't I just wrote about it in the first paragraph in my previous post. The fact is I am excited, and who wouldn't. Probably some may ask, why didn't I write anything about Lanvin's collaboration with H≈M before? Simple answer is, I didn't like Lanvin. Probably never will, to date. Their clothes are not my cuppa tea coz apparently their design is quite on the off side to me. So, why bother writing something that I myself didn't believe in?

Anyway, Versace for H&M. If you've ever been into any Versace store, then you should know the understated simplicity luxe it is. I went into Versace store quite a couple of times, and everytime I hold the clothes and the accesories, it's all with care... coz not only they're expensive, but they felt so luxe. Just like the person in the video. (but not if I go into Gucci though, ahaks!).

In fact, the brand is synonymous with luxury, from the clothes to the home decor collection, which has span through decades. And for this collaboration, there'll be 40 pieces for women, plus 20 for men and also some home decor collection threwn in. How's it gonna be? Watch the video and you'll have a sneak peek.

I can't really wait for this another Italian fashion house to grace H&M stores after the previous Roberto Cavalli collection that have proven a masssive seller. Let's see.... should I fly to London, or just cross the selat in Singapore instead to get a hold of them?

Btw, Donatella Versace is really giving an up-close sneak peek on one of the pieces for womenswear after she wore the LBD that's part of the Versace x H&M collection. Holla..!

And some other sneak peek...

Versace Return to the Roots

S
Great news for fashion lovers coz Versace has announced its collaboration with H&M for the coming Fall/Winter 2011 collection. Aren't we all excited about that? Expect some magic touch from Donatella Versace who knows how to mix flair, flamboyance and luxury all in one go. Who doesn't like to own something from the legendary luxe Italian power house that has seen lots of ups and downs through the years. Whatever it is, one thing to expect though - is vibrant.

And talking about vibrant, for Spring/Summer 2012 it seems that Donatella has gone down the root of where it's all began. The DNA and heritage of Versace, she has brought back some vibrance and flamboyance back into the new collection that is synonymous with the glory days of the late Gianni. From the Greek-inspired geometric pattern, signature Versace prints, leather and buckles galore; you can see all that in this SS12 collection. Together with a burst of colors, there's also a relax mood in the clothes which is what summer is all about - to be laid back and enjoy what nature gives you.

Could this give a hint of what you gonna expect this Fall/Winter Versace's collaboration with H&M?

Bing! She's a Versace Fan!

S
I wanna divert a bit from the men's fashion and jump into the women's atelier. As a matter of fact, I wanna quote what I've written in the previous blogpost last February,

"...And with Oscar that's gonna arrived pretty soon, some of these gorgeous dresses would definitely be seen on the red carpet without a doubt..."

Turned out that it's not the Oscar, but at Cannes International Film Festival instead that those amazing frocks from Atelier Versace became a headturner on the red carpet. Not one, but two dresses worn by Fan Bing Bing to the world's most celebrated film fiesta. And it seems that both dresses that I featured side by side in the post is being picked!

Ha! Told you so. Don't mess with me! I got sixth 'fashion' sense too! (kidding...)
